Replacing The Car Brake Line

The brake system is one of the most important parts in your car. To ensure its functionality, you must check and maintain it on regular basis. One component of the brake system most car owners often ignore is the brake line. This is the part where the brake fluid passes through. The car brake line needs replacement if it's already brittle.

Here are some simple steps on how to change your car's brake line:

1. Inspect the brake line first. Check the brake line of each wheel and trace the line from the master cylinder to the wheel. To know the right brake line to use, consult your car owner's manual or ask for assistance of your local auto shop.

2. Start by disconnecting the old car brake line and the master cylinder. Follow the path of each of the four lines all the way to the wheel. Then, remove the tires before removing the hose line.

3. Afterwards, install the new brake line in a reverse manner. You have to start from the wheel. Line up the brake line on its place by following the path of each of the four lines.

4. Once you're done, refill the car brake fluid and bleed the brakes thoroughly to ensure you have a nice firm brake pedal.

5. Lastly, replace the tires and remove the jack. Test your brakes before taking it out for a drive.
